The Brief

Gather are a property company with a portfolio of student accommodation throughout the UK. They needed a one-stop site that could both showcase the quality of the accommodation on offer and allow students to book and pay for their room.

Based in Hong Kong, Gather cater to UK and Chinese students. They needed a multilingual site that performed well regardless of what country you were in.

Our work

Lunar did a full performancea audit and completely refactored the code to improve how the user experienced page load times.

Furthermore, we researched and designed a new server architecture so that the site was served from local data centres, whether you were in the UK or China. We took over the management and maintainance of their servers from Rackspace, saving the company hundreds of dollars each month in hosting fees.

We have added new features including the addition of a new payment checkout system, 3D tours of student accommodation and converted it all into a multi-lingual website.
